One of the topics that we cover in my class is how to make good character choices. I want to give an opportunity for my students to learn about self-empowerment, being independent, being respectful, how to handle one's anger and responsibility. I am hoping to expand my resources so that my students can learn how to be part of their community. Illustrated picture books will help my students visually and auditory see examples of how book characters handle social situations. I can use these same resources multiple times this year and for future school years. Furthermore, my partner SDC teacher and the general education teachers that I work with can access these same books. This book list will bring lots of great discussion and life lessons to my classroom!
