The "Who Was" series of books are easy and fun to read. They are engaging and my students love them. I will use this set of books for book reports and extended reading for students to gain a greater appreciation of history. Too often, historical texts are not accessible for English Language Learners. This collection of books is diverse, interesting and entertaining enough to reach every student in my class. We all have a natural curiosity in where we came from, but it is our job as teachers in making that information accessible enough to be interesting. These books will give students access to different historical figures from different backgrounds.
