This collection of fairy tales will enhance my students' creativity, imagination, and comprehension in reading and writing. Over my years of teaching, I have seen a decrease in students' ability to write and think critically and creatively. Many students do not understand the importance of studying elements of a story such as the setting, characterization, plot, problem and resolution. They also have difficulty imagining and creating ideas for fictional stories. They lack the skills to write narrative stories and read while analyzing the text. Fairy tales help to increase my students' confidence to read and write creatively. This collection will be an extraordinary asset to enhance critical-thinking and collaboration among my students. This collection has a combination of fractured fairy tales and tales from different cultures. These books will allow small groups of students to read and analyze different versions of many classic fairy tales along with performing readers' theater with the stories. Students will also study the social injustice in fairy tales such as racism and stereotypes. These fairy tales are fun to read, easy to understand and teach cultural values and traditions. They are high-interest stories that will strengthen my students' critical thinking skills, imagination, writing skills, and get them more excited about reading!
