These interactive games are a great way for my students to learn their letter sounds, and improve their phonological awareness skills. They will be used during small group instruction, where they will work with peers in an environment where there will be not only teacher-student interaction, but student-student interaction as well. The games will help them identify words with the same beginning, middle and ending sound, and also teach them which vowel sounds they need to make new words. The games will help them replace the beginning sound to make new words , giving them many ways of practicing their knowledge of letter sounds, and how words are made. The sight words game will help them learn their sight words in a fun and engaging way. And learning with games also teaches students how to work together.
