My social work classroom is a safe haven for the 400 students in my school. Whether the student is on my regular caseload or not, students know they can come to my room to “chill out” or calm down when feeling mad, upset, stressed, or anxious. The students have access to many visuals, fidgets, and calming tools in my room to help them calm down and get back to class. We are in need of new comfy pillows and a cozy carpet this year. Having a safe, comfortable, and cozy area in the school helps students feel safe and supported.

About my class
