Students need to read to become strong readers. Many of our students do not have easy access to e-books, and have limited finds to purchase print books when library access is limited. Making book bags gives our students the opportunity to have access to their school library even when learning remotely. Book bags can be placed outside so parents can pick up when it is convenient. When the books are returned, they can remain in the bag in quarantine until it is safe to handle again. If students lose their reading momentum, I worry how we will gain it back.
