My goal with this project is to create more hands-on centers for my kinesthetic learners. While visual and auditory are easier to create, kinesthetic learning centers require more materials. These kinesthetic activities for centers in the classroom will keep my students engaged. Each activity is hands-on, and this is a must in a kindergarten classroom. The bottom line is, my students need to move around. Whether it's their hands, legs, or both, movement needs to happen! I understand this and want activities in my classroom to give them the opportunity to move their bodies while learning kindergarten skills. For example, the magnetic letters will be used on a filing cabinet where the students will need have the words on one side and will need to move around to the other side to them create them with magnets. This gives my students a chance to move around while leaning their sight words. The sight word sentence manipulative gives them a chance to create sentences by moving pieces around. Not only will they take more ownership of their work, it is much more engaging then copying sentences from paper. Overall, these are all engaging activities that I am ready to implement in my classroom!
