Sometimes first grade students need that one extra tool to help them be successful in the classroom, and for many of these students that tool is something that simply allows them to move! I have been experimenting with flexible seating choices for several years in my classroom. We currently have wiggle seats (sensory cushions that rest on top of chairs), yoga balls, bean bags, floor pillows, and tables of various heights. Many of these need periodic replacement. These Hokki Stools will give many students the extra boost they need to concentrate, and they will last many years. Wiggling while they work, my students will be more engaged, less disruptive, and using them has the added benefit of increasing their core body strength.
