I have chosen all of these books with my students in mind. These books are mostly in Spanish which will benefit my dual-language students who are developing their literacy skills in Spanish and English. By having access to books such as "The Keeping Quilt" by Patricia Polacco, students will learn about different cultures and make connections to their own. Not only will students be able to read in Spanish but they will be able to choose books that interest them. Books such as "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and "Captain Underpants" were two favorite books listed in our book interest survey last year. I know students will love and care for their favorite books in our classroom library. There is no doubt that books spark the imagination and curiosity! And these new books will get students excited to read every day.
