One way I can bring history to life is with Virtual Reality. That’s right! I use Google Expeditions to take my students places they wouldn’t otherwise be able to go. However, we only have one set of cardboard goggles for the entire middle school, including some broken ones, which makes it difficult to have them when needed. I can do so much more if I have my own set. Some examples of expeditions I’ve used are Battle of Little Bighorn, World War I Trenches, and D-Day. The look on students’ faces when they get up close and personal with history is magical!
