My students need floor seats, wobble chairs, wobble cushions, and soft seats to make their learning experience more comfortable and enjoyable. We all learn differently. As an educator, I need to differentiate to meet the needs of all students by providing them with tools where they will be successful learners. This includes flexible, comfortable seating where they will learn best. Do you have a comfortable chair at your desk you use daily or a comfortable sofa to curl up and read a good book? It helps to be comfortable! Students need to learn how to take responsibility for their learning and know what works best for them. I plan to use wobble stools and wobble seats with students who are very active. I will use soft seats and floor chairs for students who need a quiet learning space away from their table group. Using flexible seating will give students independence in the classroom and will allow students to advocate for themselves as learners. Will you help students in being successful, independent learners?
