I will be teaching a first and second grade combination class. In order to reach the needs of all students, I will implement language arts rotations. I will be able to meet with students individually and in small groups to focus on their needs and read books with them at the appropriate level. While I am meeting with students, the rest of the class will be engaged in various literacy activities. I am requesting a listening center and a Phonemic Awareness Listen and Learn activity program for my project. This set will allow the other students access to quality learning time while I am working with a group. They will turn on a cd and follow the step-by-step instructions to build phonemic awareness. The program has enough materials for up to 8 students at one time, including 128 write and wipe activity cards and 4 cd's with 16 different activities. This program will be especially beneficial for my English Language Learners and help them to get a firm grasp on the foundations of reading and literacy.
