My students are from a rural community in central Louisiana. We are an area full of hunters and fishermen starting at a very young age. The parents are very supportive of the children in our school and small community. The area is very tight-knit where the teachers know all of the children and families. Many of our teachers have even taught parents of some of the children; yes, this is a small community!:) They take pride in their area and put a strong sense of importance on education. Being naturally inquisitive, they absolutely love hands-on activities like doing experiments and lab stations in science. When it comes to technology, their thirst for knowledge is unstoppable. They support and challenge each other daily. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
