I need hands-on MakerSpace items for basic rough prototyping. For example, what if you wanted to make a new potato peeler for someone with arthritis, or design a new eco-friendly living system? You would need to build a rough model, or modify an existing utensil to explore size, form, comfort, function, scale and more. Modeling clay, basic clay modeling tools, straws, chipboard, zip ties, clips, buttons, beads, Velcro, rubber bands and different types of string will go along way paired with other odds and ends that can be upcycled or reused as design materials. These materials will help students design, build prototypes and present their ideas visually and functionally. We are starting the year collaborating with a local college, UW Milwaukee, on an entrepreneurship project. Students will need to iterate multiple ideas and use these materials to prototype concepts for their business plan before presenting to local community members for Milwaukee Startup week. Help us get started! Thank you!
