In Kindergarten, children need choice. They need to be engaged. They need to be able to be active. Having flexible seating in our classroom allows for all of this. I have dabbled with flexible seating for a few years now but have always felt that my students were being cheated from having a real flexible classroom and I don't want to wait any longer. Having students be able to use items that will encourage them to move and stand and change positions allows for them to focus better because they are getting oxygen moving to their brain, they aren't required to sit still in one position all day and it gives them the power of choice. Kids need choice.
