For the items in my project I chose things that I knew would help the students to learn the basics of reading (Letters, letter sounds, phonemic awareness, etc) and many other foundational skills. These parts of reading are the foundations that students need to become successful readers and learners. If they were to have theses resources, they would be able to practice many foundational skills in many different ways! The first item that I chose is a letter chart. This is such a neat item that can be used everyday as a group on the carpet. We can focus on one letter and really dig deep into the way it looks, how it is written, how it sounds, and words that have the letter in it. The students will be able to look back on this letter of the day all day. The next items that I chose are bundles. It is the kindergarten readiness and kindergarten reading skills centers. These bundles are games, writing, activities, and so much more that kindergarteners would love to have and have fun with while still learning! These bundles have foundational skills for reading, number recognition, problem solving skills, and even ways for them to learn how to manage emotions and feelings with communication. They cover everything from reading to science! They can be used with the teacher in small group instruction or for them to work on their own or with a partner in centers.
