Our classroom floor is tile, which can become cold and messy. While chairs work for some age groups, my younger students struggle with upper body strength and balance. Like in their homerooms, this rug will be very helpful for some of my young students who need a more familiar place to sit. For my older students, a music rug can be a place of exploration; we can use this rug to identify music symbols and enhance music reading. I plan to use this rug as a great resource to teach the notes on the staff through hands-on activities to get them ready for reading sheet music!
