I teach wonderful 6th graders! They will be transitioning this fall into a middle school. Some come with the misconception that math is not for them because it is too hard. I strive to make all of my students comfortable with math, making mistakes, and looking for different methods to solve problems. Students also need to see that math is used in all kinds of places and ways. Everyone can do math! Scholastic Math Magazine shows that math is everywhere. It relates math to different real-world topics, such as zoo animals, ocean life, or even recycling. Please help me get these wonderful magazines for my 6th graders.
