Reading novels as a whole class is part of our curriculum. Percy Jackson is part of one unit that we do not have any novels for.
In the past, I have always seen the excitement students get from reading this book and I would like to share in their excitement this year. While reading this novel as a whole class, students will look into multiple literary elements. In addition, students will use the novel in order to compare to multiple different texts. After reading the novel, students will be able to look at the big idea and answer the question: how does history inform and inspire us.
