Students have a love of learning that isn’t always readily apparent. Students love of playing is sometimes all too apparent. So, what’s a teacher to do? Combine them. Using whiteboards to play academic games allow students to learn to cooperate, support and encourage each other, learn from each other, and last but certainly not least, HAVE FUN! Whiteboards are also a great resource to me as a teacher because I can ask students a question and with a quick scan of the room, I can see who understands it and who needs a little more care and attention. Which brings me to another fantastic benefit, I can work with students in small groups using whiteboards which saves time when editing errors and save trees by not using paper. It’s a win-win-win. Students have fun, I maximize my teaching, and we’re being environmentally conscious.
