Our school is in rural Georgia, with the closest urban area being an hour away. A few decades ago, all of the industrial developments left the area, leaving hundreds without a job. To this day, these families are struggling to find employment opportunities. Needless to say, in a town that is not thriving, the teachers and students lack materials to enrich the students' education. Each student in my science classroom loves learning. They absolutely love hands-on, active, and engaging projects. With me being a new teacher with a limited personal and school budget, I am still gathering resources and strategies to use in my classroom. The resources and strategies I wish to use in my classroom have been found effective by extensive classroom research with low socioeconomic schools. Please help me provide the future of our community with the resources they need to be successful.
