With these materials, I will be able to better engage and educate my students. They encompass a wide variety of characters, messages, themes, problems, and solutions. They are great mentor texts yet also teach kids reading is for pleasure as well as learning. I remember reading the Scholastic News as a kid and looking forward to it every month. I believe these educate students on important events and people around the world as well as making it interesting for kids. They touch on a wide range of academic subjects and I want my students to read and learn about what’s happening in their world.
