In preschool, hands-on play that engages the senses is so important. Children love playing in sand, water, and other sensory type things. The “messier” they can get, the better. They love to explore new materials with their friends and talk about what they are experiencing. Through this play, they learn to problem solve, ask questions, explore, and so much more. It will allow them to use their hands to explore and be engaged. In a preschool classroom, when something is fun and engaging all of the students want to do it at the same time. These new sensory materials will allow more children in our preschool class to have the opportunity for sensory play! The new sensory table will be so much fun for preschool. It will allow more students to have access to the sensory table. It also allows for two types of sensory activities to be happening at one time! It also has an option of using the extra bins as sensory tubs that can be taken anywhere in the classroom and be used! The new sensory toys will work great with the table. They will offer the students a chance to scoop, dump, measure, and explore what is in the sensory table. The sand is always needed in preschool. No matter how hard they try, little ones get more sand on the floor than stays in the table. This sand will help keep our sensory table stocked with sand for the year (hopefully!).
