The materials I am asking for will be used for 'Brain Bins' that I will have available in my classroom, either during centers or as an option when students are finished with an assignment. These bins will give the opportunity for my students to think critically and creatively through play, adding in many components of STEM! The bins will include open-ended materials such as Magnetic Blocks, Bristle Blocks, Squiqz, etc. My students will use these materials to explore, create, build and PLAY. In my classroom I feel so much of our class time is spent on rigorous instruction and although that is an important part of school, I feel the constant need to let kids be kids. I feel like the materials I will be putting inside the Brain Bins will allow for play and the learning of new skills.
