Document cameras are amazing tools for the classroom. They can be utilized in a variety of ways. They allow a teacher to visually show text, math, and objects in seconds. Any document used in the classroom can be shown to help guide and teach students. Document cameras grab students' attention and help generate more thought provoking discussion in the classroom as well as creating more interaction. As a elementary teacher, I enjoy reading aloud to my class. Utilizing the document camera, I can place the text in the document camera and we can stop and talk about unknown words and use context clues to figure it out. We can also analyze the writer's craft. With this piece of technology, I can use any text or article and my students do not have to have that piece in front of them. The capability of the document camera opens the door to endless learning opportunities.
