As a tutoring space, our classroom is not outfitted with flexible seating. 90% of our students struggle with ADD/ADHD or sensory issues. Our students with autism benefitted from homemade cushions and creatively pieced together alternative seating we provided last year. We want to outfit this year’s classroom with classy flexible seating that enables them to focus and achieve. I hope that addressing the sensory issues and using shades to soften the fluorescent lighting will relieve the sensory intake that may trigger headaches that we dealt with last year. We want to provide a better learning environment. Cushioned chairs will help!
