These seats will give the students an opportunity to learn, while being as comfortable as they can be in my classroom. The idea that they would get to sit in a different way and eventually (after tons of classroom management) get to pick their own spot is very motivating! Hopefully, they will also take on more ownership of our classroom as I will teach them to take extra care of their seats to make sure their cool seats will last all year. Starting off the year with flexible seating will be an adventure, as introducing the different types of seats will be exciting with the variety and choice the students will get to make. First graders are very energetic, and will love to bounce and wiggle as they learn. I am excited to see what our room looks like when we have all of the seats fully implemented! The book bins and book bags are the perfect storage solution, since they will no longer have storage inside their desk. We will keep all of our books, folders, and pencil pouches in these bins. They help keep our classroom neat, and we would not be able to have successful flexible seating without them.
