The wobble stools will be used at my kidney table to improve focus and attention during academic instruction and guided practice. The wobble cushions will help my students to stay on their spot while sitting at the carpet. Both of these seating options will allow for safe fidgeting, which prevents students falling over or bumping into someone else. Students with autism have a wide range of sensory needs. Flexible seating provides sensory stimulation for the vestibular and proprioceptive senses; these have a huge impact on self-regulation. This assistance with self-regulation will hopefully minimize any behaviors that negatively effect academic instruction.
