My kids LOVE to read! The only problem is that I can't manage to have enough "cool" books in my classroom library to keep them engaged in complex texts that draw them in. My reluctant readers don't have enough engaging graphic novels at their reading levels and my high fliers have blown through the few engaging novels that I have. My biggest fear is that without a rich classroom library, my students will begin to lose their love of reading during independent reading time. By beefing up the library with high-interest books that feature young protagonists that they can relate to, I am hoping to help my students find that first, second, and 100th book that they fall in love with in 3rd grade!
