These products will help facilitate communication skills with all my students. Sometimes it is hard to get students talking. The use of picture cards are a great way to spark student's interest. These cards can be used in lessons and centers. They can be used to build vocabulary. They can be used with sequencing. There are so many options for these materials. A big skill that I teach is sentence structure. I teach this through our verbal interactions and on paper. Students who have autism sometimes have a great deal of frustration when it comes to communication. The use of these items will help spark communication verbally and written. Materials for special education classrooms are hard to come by. I recently moved to a new position. The room I moved into was full of junk. I had to throw about 90% of the materials in my room away because they were dated and inappropriate for my students. I have very little materials to help facilitate communications with my students. These materials will bring much needed resources to my classroom.
