We need alternative seats, including floor cushions, stools and bolster pillows, that will provide a comfy spot for students to do their best work. I hated being stuck in a desk as a student (I still do!) and so do many of my 9-10 year old students. By adding moveable options- stools, yoga cushions and floor pillows - we are giving kids options to choose how they learn. For example, once I give directions for an activity, I will then allow students to choose their workspace. With your donation, students will not have to only choose their desk or floor - they may choose a comfy yoga cushion to sit on, a giant floor pillow to lay on or a stool to perch in! Away from their desks and in a place of their choosing, students will be able to read a new book or write their best story. I know my kids will enjoy their classroom more with these options to make learning more fun and comfortable.
