I want to expose my young learners to famous artists! This year I want to highlight an artist of the month and allow my children to learn about the life of the artist, the country where the artist was from, the style of art the artist used, and some of the artists most famous pieces of art. I have chosen some children's books for each of the artists we will be studying in order to introduce the artist in a child-friendly way. We will be recreating some of the famous art pieces with our own creativity and will use the books as a jumping off point to connect art and literacy together. Children will have the opportunity to do research on the artist of the month using the books from this project as another way to bring literacy and art together!
