My students need a classroom that represents their learning. Just as my kids have different backgrounds, they have different learning styles. These wiggly, energetic learners need a setting that is fitting to their needs. My students are most successful when they are in a comfortable learning environment. Having a classroom with flexible seating increases the chance of my students feeling autonomy over the classroom! I want students to feel ownership over their learning and a classroom that accommodates their needs is essential. For example, a floor area with a wobble chair is ideal for kids who struggle sitting in a desk for a long period of time. A rug and some floor seating options opens the door for collaborative group work to happen! I look forward to this school year and seeing my students finding comfort in their classroom and doing their best work!
