We need multiple copies of a variety of books. Our titles include Esperanza Rising, Wonder El Deafo, Out of My Mind and more. If my project is fully funded, we will use these books for literature circles. This gives students choice in their reading. The students will work with a teacher and other students to read and explore these books. Students excel when they have more options in their learning. When given choices my students thrive and take their learning more seriously. Students will choose what interests them between four books. Each day, students will read and discuss with their facilitator and group. Students will use their book to discuss various literary elements and skills that we are learning, such as summaries, themes, and character development.
