I would like to expand on my students' flexible seating options this year. Currently, they have access to tables, individual desks, traditional chairs, wobble chairs, and standing desks. Giving the children choices in my class has proven to be beneficial to their confidence and focus. We are hoping to find funding for 5 bean bag chairs to add to my classroom to be used as alternative seating. Choosing the best seating for them is an easy first step to taking responsibility for their own learning. Flexible seating offers other benefits, such as creating a sense of comfort and community in the classroom. Remember how much you loved math class? Comfortable seating options can give math class the warm and cozy it is sometimes missing.
