We are requesting a rug for our classroom to use during our reading time, calendar, and whole group lessons. I attempted teaching without a carpet. It was scary. Students were all over the place, touching each other, fighting, and needless to say, it made learning difficult. A rug is a must for every successful kindergarten classroom! Stress is alleviated when students know where to sit. This rug will be the single most used item in my classroom. I love that the rug isn't just a place to sit, but to learn, as well. The students will learn about their colors and shapes and it brings brightness and fun to a classroom.
