"Reading is important! When you read or when someone reads to you it helps you learn and discover new things." ~Todd Parr Our classroom library needs titles that the children want to read. These book titles will also help expand our Guided Reading selection for small group time and Shared Reading. I want my students to be able to choose their books to read in class. I also want them to experience amazing Read Aloud books. This is so important, to allow children the choice of what to read at their level. My students' reading levels span from DRA Instructional A to J and our classroom library lacks enough variety of appropriate levels. Children need to read books at their level and their interest. Many of our books are outdated, old and just not fun to read. I want my students to develop a love of literacy at this crucial beginning stage in their education. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” -Dr. Seuss.
