By having a 9' x 12' rug and stackable stools in the classroom, students will be able to make choices about where they sit, giving them ownership for their own learning. It allows flexibility in helping students stay engaged throughout lessons and independent work. This gives students the freedom to choose an area that will foster their best learning. By offering stools as a seating option, students will be able to easily create groups around the room or work in their own space. Students will also be able to easily move the stools around a table to work more closely with teachers, either one on one or in a small group setting. Building community is key in creating a caring, respectful classroom where students can feel supported in their learning. By having a 9'x 12' carpet in the classroom will allow us to all join together to share ideas in partners and as a whole where everyone feels included. It will be a place where we can host morning meetings, students can collaborate, discuss, partner read, or just spread out for independent learning! Please help me create a space where students are thriving, independent learners! With a nice clean rug, some stools, and other simple materials, I can create the safe learning environment every student will enjoy. Thank you for reading!
