I am a special education teacher in the inclusion setting. My students have difficulty sitting in this setting at typical desks. I am looking to revamp my classroom using alternative seating! I believe that when my students aren't expected to sit still in desks, that they can use their energy to focus more on learning. Please help me fund this project to give my students more opportunity for movement and sensory input/output using alternative seating. Some examples of alternative seating that I would like to use are ball seats that require students to use their core in order to stay balanced. These seats will engage the students' bodies without taking focus away from the learning or activities. I was able to purchase one ball seat for my classroom this year, and it worked tremendously for the student who used it each day. I would like to allow other students with disabilities to have access to the same types of seating!
