An area rug will provide my students with the opportunity to sit somewhere comfortable besides on the cold tile floor creating a home like feel. Students will use the rug to read silently, read with partners, or for story time. This rug will also allow students to see formation of letters during our writing time. This project will help my students improve their reading skills. The different book levels will allow the students to read material on their level. This may be done independently on the rug or in small group setting. The set of Sony Headphones will allow my students to incorporate technology with their reading. Students will be able to listen to audio books to improve their fluency, use with educational websites (IXL and Spelling City), and will also help during testing to limit distractions.
