White board tables will encourage my students to show and share their work when solving math problems. Students don't always like to show how they got the answer. They would rather give the answer and ask if they got it right. The ability to write directly on the tables with colorful markers will encourage them to focus more on the work, rather than on the answer. The tables will encourage my students to explore different strategies, to share their work with others, and to collaborate. Even the reluctant math learner will enjoy writing on the table while exploring solutions to math problems. The white board tables will also encourage conversations about math as students share and discuss the thinking that went into their math work that is so brightly displayed in front of them.
