Knowing that they can print out their projects and assignments (without embarrassment or anyone else noticing), helps keep them motivated. I purchased the printer myself last year and copy paper is provided sporadically, or else I purchase that also. But the ink cartridges do not last long when there are 90 students and everyone has projects due at the same time. And the students want their projects to look good, so a basic color printer is a must. It might seem like a little thing, but if one does not have the means to do this, it is just another barrier to fully participating in their educational process.
