The students at Ladera Ranch Middle School work hard to succeed in class and on the Standards Based Assessment. Unfortunately, some of our instructional materials and books are dated and do not correlate with the Common Core State Standards. The Flocabulary learning program is engaging and directly correlates with the Common Core State Standards. While the students score very well on the Standards Based Assessment year after year, one reoccurring deficit is in the listening component of the test. In 2016, only 30% of the students scored above standard in listening. Flocabulary uses videos to teach standards based content and is proven to increase standardized test scores.
