Our students are from a small urban community. The majority of our student body consists of children from impoverished to low income families. Our school is a Title I public elementary with 77% of our children on free or reduced lunch. Because of lack of funding, the school library was budgeted $200 last year. Our children need an opportunity to be expose to anything that will encourage a love for reading. By funding this project or a part of it you are letting our children know that not only do their teachers care about their learning to love reading, but a whole world foreign to them cares.
