My students will use the Scholastic News magazines to build nonfiction-reading skills and increase content area knowledge. Skill sheets, poster/videos, and the written print are all age appropriate with multiple reading levels available on line for differentiation. Having these file folder games and magazines will enhance the learning process and introduce students to news that may not be available otherwise. The File folder games will help make connections to real life experiences as well as current events. Students who read these magazines find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn that reading is fun is perfect way to build better readers.
