For the 6th year in a row, Google is ranked the BEST company to work for. People want to work for Google. One reason many people flock to Google is due to the comfortable and fun work environment. During the 2018 - 2019 school year, I want to transform my classroom from the traditional learning environment (desks and chairs) to a unconventional and collaborative classroom. The furniture I am requesting is a by a company called Flex Space. Flex-Space furniture was designed with classroom teachers in mind. Flex-Space Furniture allows teachers to quickly rearrange their classrooms for a wide variety of independent and collaborative activities, project-based work and more, while also providing choices to support students' individual learning styles. I am specifically requesting 2 Green Comfy Chairs, 1 Blue Comfy Couch, and 2 Blue Floor Seats. This new seating arrangement will give my students a space to take ownership of their education and myself the flexibility to quickly change my classroom for different activities. Adding this furniture to my classroom, will not only increase the feeling of safety and comfort, but it will also increase productivity and student collaboration. Adding this furniture will also create a Google-esque environment. Even though my students are only in 5th grade, we have accomplished many tasks. Throughout the year, my students spend time researching their future career paths, creating their own inventions, and they also participate in Pen Pal projects with students from around the globe. This helps create mature, global citizens ready to take on the challenge of making our world a better place!
