Language acquisition research has proven that reading is the most powerful and efficient way to increase language proficiency. This is my first year using Comprehensible Input methods in my Spanish classroom and I wish to offer my students a lasting library of fascinating leveled fiction and nonfiction literature, including audiobooks, to support and advance their listening, reading and writing literacy during our daily free choice reading time. I would love for my students to have the opportunity to choose reading topics and levels that are appropriate to their needs AND their interests. I have selected an assortment of Spanish novels written specifically for students of Spanish by teachers who know what captivates them. I have chosen these books based on their superior reviews by other middle school Spanish teachers and believe they will be a perfect way to begin a relevant and engaging classroom library. Libraries create literate and empathetic world citizens and the books you gift to this classroom will help improve communication skills, expand world views and foster a bright future for us all. Build a library, ¡cambia el mundo! (change the world!) By donating to this project, you are providing these awesome young humans the chance to learn a new language or improve literacy in their heritage language by diving deep into comprehensible and alluring narratives.
