My students need time with technology both individually and collaboratively. It allows them to gain experience with software, engage in research-based learning, and discover new things they have not seen before. This in turn produces much of the background knowledge they need for improving cognitive skills, such as problem-solving and reading comprehension. The most effectively operated and cost efficient technology device for learning in the classroom is the Chromebook. Sadly, due to limited funding, each grade level has only one device cart to share, in our case, among seven classes. Furthermore, in many cases, these are students whose parents cannot afford technology devices for them at home. By donating to this project, you will be enabling students to gain more one-on-one time with the technology that they need to adequately prepare them for the real world in which they will become adults.
