This year my sixth graders will be reading novels from diverse authors who have important messages to share. My students will be learning about Memoir, and Semi-Autobiographical works to inspire them to think about their own stories, find their important voices and create a mixed-media memoir of their own. These three books will play an integral role in shaping these goals. For their culminating project, my students will create a collection of essays of their own stories through a variety of mediums such as video, art, writing, collage, poetry, spoken word, podcast, blogging, and more. Thanks for helping us!
