The materials I am requesting will be used to create artwork that will hang semi-permanently in our hallways helping to improve the look of the blah institutional cement block walls colored a uniform blah yellow color. Each canvas will be an Eric Carle (The Hungry Caterpillar) inspired artwork to help identify where grade levels are housed within the school (think, "...go to the lightening bug in hallway A to find the first grade classrooms."). The colorful, festive artwork will also enhance the culture of the school instilling pride in the students when they see what they have created becoming something useful and beautiful within our school. Each student will create a textured painting to be used towards the final project and identify with how their simple piece of art was used towards a more complex final piece of art improving the look of our hallways for years to come.
